Franciscan Community Volunteers was founded in 2009 by Sister Clara Stang as a way to provide young adults with an opportunity to serve the poor and experience the Franciscan way of life. Based on three pillars—Meaningful Service, Intentional Community, Franciscan Spirituality—the program welcomed over the years 53 young adults who made a commitment to serve nonprofit agencies in the St. Cloud area while living in community with Franciscan Sisters. As interest in long-term volunteer programs waned, the program came to a close in June 2020.

The benefits of the FCV program to the young adults, to the Franciscan community and to the greater world are immeasurable. The Franciscan values and spirit lives on in these remarkable adults. Thank you to all who have supported FCV over the years. We share the final issue of Community Connections.
