50th Jubilarian

Ange 2019_USEThe Franciscan Sisters of Little Falls, Minnesota, celebrated the 50th Jubilee of Sister Angeline Mayers, daughter of the late George and Alvina (Poepping) Mayers on Sunday, August 4.  A Mass of Thanksgiving was celebrated at St. Francis Convent, Little Falls, followed by a dinner and reception for invited guests. 

 

Sister Ange entered the Novitiate at St.  Francis Convent on April 5, 1969, and made her final profession of vows on June 2, 1974.

 

Originally, from New Munich, Sister Ange has ministered in religious education and parish ministry in Onamia and Morris, Minn. She spent over 25 years in Arizona in Native American ministry - in family faith formation, grief ministry and being a companion to those on the margins. In addition, Sister Ange facilitated addiction prevention programs.  From 1988-1991, Sister Ange ministered in San Felix, Venezuela, in catechesis, forming Base Christian Communities, as well as, coordinating self-empowering courses.

 

In 2014, Sister Ange moved to Mexico to live in Community with other Franciscan Sisters.  Presently, at Casa Franciscana, she lives with sisters, high school students and staff, while ministering in the parish.  She trains lectors, assists with faith formation, teaches English to all age groups.  Recently, she began directing a camp for girls and one for boys.  During the summer months, Sister Ange is in Minnesota directing Girls Camp.  In addition, assisting with a variety of ministries with the Franciscan Sisters.
