Many times the word "rule" connotes a negative expectation or demand. Our Franciscan Rule articulated clearly what has given my years as a Franciscan woman an energetic focus, a profound depth and an expectant hop. Thanks to Francis and Clare for insisting that the Gospel alone is our primary Rule of Life and all that is needed.
