The need for counter-culturism is as great today as it was in Francis' day. Being a Franciscan legitimizes and empowers me to challenge even the highest powers and to enjoy the most simple of things.

• Foster Mother for 17 children at Catholic Charities, Lexington, Miss.
• Mom--Durable legal custody of 3 children, Tchula & Madison, Miss.

• Retired at St. Francis Convent, Little Falls, Minn.
