Second annual St. Francis High School Gathering

On Sunday, July 19, 2015, about 115 St. Francis High School graduates, former students, faculty, and staff enjoyed a delightful day at the Motherhouse, celebrating the second annual Gathering. The goal of this event is to keep alive over the years the relationships formed at SFHS and to nurture and promote the Franciscan spirit instilled during those special high school years.

Fr. Michael Kwatera, OSB, presided at the 11:00 a.m. liturgy, and Sr. Elise Saggau gave the homily. Graduates from various years served as liturgical ministers. At noon, everyone enjoyed a simple lunch in St. Francis Hall and an afternoon of intense visiting. They were able to watch a DVD presentation on the life of Sr. Elizabeth Weier, who had served for so many years at the school and whose funeral had been celebrated just one week earlier. Many enjoyed touring the former high school building, talking of their wonderful memories all the way.

At 3:00 p.m. the day happily ended with anticipation of participating again on the third Sunday of July 2016. Next year’s event will be advertised in Our Journey and on the FSLF website. Notices will also be sent out via email.

The Franciscan Sisters of Little Falls, Minnesota, is a community of Catholic women religious who follow the Gospel of Jesus Christ, walking in the footsteps of Saints Francis and Clare of Assisi. We believe that the living of a poor, simple and prayerful community life is a ministry of presence and witness. Our doors are open to the public to celebrate Mass in Sacred Heart Chapel and to benefit from the St. Francis Music Center and St. Francis Health & Recreation Center. We welcome those who wish to join us as sisters, associates, volunteers, transfer sisters, friends and donors.
