Three Sisters will celebrate their 60th Jubilee

The Franciscan Sisters of Little Falls will honor three of their sisters who celebrate 60 years as members of the Order on Sunday, June 22, 2014. These sisters represent 180 years of dedicated service to the people of God in the spirit of Saints Francis and Clare of Assisi. They have served in varied ministries throughout the United States and the world. A Mass of Thanksgiving will be celebrated at St. Francis Convent, Little Falls, followed by a dinner and reception for invited guests.

 

The 60-year jubilarians include Sisters Rita Kuhl, Bernita Lindstrom and Joyce Marie Piotrowski, who entered the novitiate at St. Francis Convent on July 31, 1954, and made their final profession of vows in 1959.

 

Sister Rita Kuhl grew up on a farm near St. Martin. Living the Franciscan values, she has taught in several elementary schools in the Diocese of St. Cloud and ministered as a religious education coordinator in the St. Cloud Diocese as well as the Archdiocese of St. Paul-Minneapolis. Presently, Sister Rita resides in Golden Valley.

 

Sister Bernita Lindstrom was born in Ortonville. She has ministered as an elementary teacher in Fergus Falls, Minn., New Mexico and California. Sister Bernita now volunteers at Lincoln Elementary School in Little Falls.

 

Sister Joyce Marie Piotrowski was born in Foley. She ministered as a teacher for nearly 50 years within the Diocese of St. Cloud. Sister Joyce is currently a foster grandparent at All Saints Academy, St. Cloud.
