Participating in the Church's mission, we promote community through the works that we undertake and through our personal presence among those we serve. We recognize that it is the saving power of God in our own lives and in the lives of others which enables this ministry. We perceive our call particularly in hearing the needs of our brothers and sisters...and attending them.
(Constitutions of The Franciscan Sisters II: 4-5)
Our Ministry is characterized not by what we do as by how we do it. What we bring to our many and diverse ministries is a deep belief that every person, and every living being, whom we meet is our sister or brother. These sister-brother relationships are encounters in the mystery of God's love, for God is the one who created us all. This deep belief is central to our Franciscan charism.
Our ministries reflect our commitments to deepen the living our Franciscan charism, to walk with those who are poor and marginalized, with those in need of healing, and with those who hunger for God. Our ministries and way of life also reflect our commitment to care for the earth.
