Hospitality
Recognizing the need of individuals and nonprofit groups to find affordable accommodations for retreats, meetings, and conferences, and wishing to practice good stewardship in the use of available facilities, the Franciscan Sisters of Little Falls, Minnesota, sponsor a variety of hospitality centers.

These centers include  Clare's Well near Annandale, MN, Sabbath House in Minneapolis, MN,  Franciscan Welcoming House in St. Cloud, MN, and St. Francis Center in Little Falls, MN.  

St. Francis Center

St. Francis Center, located on the south side of Little Falls, MN, offers a simple and nurturing environment for spiritual and holistic retreats, workshops and meetings at a price that is affordable to individuals and nonprofit groups with limited financial resources.

Services include spiritual direction, hospitality services and group tours. Meeting spaces are for groups whose goals are humanistic, educational, or service-oriented and are in basic accord with the mission and values of the Franciscan Sisters. Therefore, the Center is inclusive of groups from a variety of faiths and cultural backgrounds and is committed to promoting nonviolence and to serving the economically disadvantaged. Parking is free and the facility is handicapped accessible.

Meeting Rooms
St. Francis Center offers comfortable, functional meeting rooms that are ideal for workshops, seminars, and organizational meetings. Groups of 30 to 150 people can be accommodated. Audiovisual equipment is available upon request.


Food and Beverage Service
Onsite food and beverage service is available for an additional fee.


Overnight Accommodations
Overnight housing is available for up to 44 people. Private and shared rooms feature simple furnishings. Bathroom facilities are shared. Guests may opt to dine in the Convent dining room. Meals in the dining room are served cafeteria-style at designated times.

  • Join the Franciscan Sisters for Mass and prayer in Sacred Heart Chapel
  • Experience the quiet space of the Franciscan Life Center
  • Walk the labyrinth mowed into the grass of the orchard
  • Use the facilities at St. Francis Health and Recreation Center for a nominal fee, therapeutic massage is available for an additional fee
  • Check out books and tapes on spirituality from St. Clare Library.
  • Shop in the Franciscan Gift Shop for handicrafts made by the Franciscan Sisters, religious items, home decor and much more.

Group Tours

Group Tours are available by appointment. Extended tours (approx. 75 minutes) may be arranged to accommodate your group’s interests. Requests can be made to have the Franciscan Gift Shop open after hours to accommodate your group tour.

Listed below are points of interest that you may choose to include in your tour.

Sacred Heart Chapel
See the Romanesque architecture, beautiful stained glass windows that include a rose window and 14 windows illustrating St. Francis’ “Canticle of the Creatures,” stations of the cross sculpted from white oak, and six shrines.

St. Francis Campus Grounds
See the exteriors of Hurrle Hall built in 1892 which is on the National Historic Register and Mary Hall built in 1895 that are made from yellow brick, flower gardens and statuary, grotto of Saint Bernadette and the Blessed Virgin Mary, stations of the cross, and labyrinth mowed into the grass in the orchard.
