In today's hectic, high-pressure society, Clare's Well provides an experience where you can nurture, refresh, renew, discover and care for yourself.
Clare's Well is a 40-acre farm with a large farmhouse, hermitages, garden, lake and woods. The peaceful and natural surroundings help you rediscover your own spirituality through a new kind of relatedness with the life-giving energy of mother earth.
The scriptures remind us of what happens at a well. We are refreshed, cleansed and healed. Transformation happens. Hearts are changed. Being at the well permits us to draw from our own resources and develop a dynamic kind of spirituality ready to reach out to others, to listen, to nurture and to enter into a process of healing and rebirth.
The name, Clare's Well, is inspired by Clare of Assisi, a 13th-century woman, saint, mystic and friend of Francis. Clare's Well calls on the Franciscan virtues of a loving respect for all creation, joyful hospitality and solidarity with the marginalized. It provides a safe and reverent space for reflecting and exploring.

You are invited to experience all that Clare's Well has to offer.
- Personal reflection, integration, study and healing
- Communal prayer and ritual
- Therapeutic Massage, Integrated Energy Therapy (IET) or Biogenesis
- Labyrinth and walking paths.
- Sauna
Both men and women are welcome. Single and shared overnight accommodations are available in three hermitages. Healthy, natural foods, many from our garden, are served. Casual clothing and walking shoes are appropriate attire. Daytime accommodations are available for both individuals and small groups.

Lives of guests are changed.
The sacred land and spirit of Clare's Well provides healing and new direction for our guests. The following is a portion of a letter from a recent visitor:
"I'm sure you are aware that the work you do here is a good thing and much needed. But I'm not sure if you realize that for some of your guests Clare's Well is not just a retreat but a life-altering experience and possibly even life-saving. I, myself, came here with wounds that were so deep and painful I thought I would never be free of them...as I leave my load is much lighter. I know there will be plenty of trials ahead but if my burdens overpower me and nothing else frees me from the crush, I can always return to Clare's Well. God is with me at home, too, but God's voice is much easier to hear in the hermitage. May God bless you. Thank you for making me feel so welcome."
Volunteer Opportunities
Throughout the year, there are also opportunities for volunteers to help in the house, preparing meals, baking, cleaning, or in the yard and garden. Just call 320-274-3512.
