The Franciscan Sisters of Little Falls will honor five of their sisters who celebrate 75 years as members of the Order on Sunday, June 22, 2008. These sisters represent 375 years of dedicated service to the people of God in the spirit of St. Francis and St. Clare of Assisi. A Mass of Thanksgiving will be celebrated at St. Francis Convent in Little Falls. Following the Mass their invited guests will enjoy a luncheon and a reception.

The jubilarians entered the novitiate at St. Francis Convent on August 12, 1933. They made their first profession of vows on August 12, 1935, and their final profession of vows on August 12, 1938. They have seen many changes in the Church and in the Franciscan Congregation throughout these 75 years. Members of the class are Sister Monica Jacobs, Sister Mary Kalis, Sister Mary DeSales Malinowski, Sister Loretto Schneider and Sister Seraphine Stanoch.

 


Sister Monica Jacobs
Sister Monica Jacobs has ministered as an office worker. She served at Breckenridge, St. Cloud, Perham, Alexandria, Little Falls, Minn.; Dodgeville, Darlington, and South Milwaukee, Wis. In 1995 she semi-retired to St. Francis Convent.


Sister Mary Kalis
Sister Mary Kalis ministered as a staff nurse, nurse anesthetist, inhalation therapist and pastoral associate. She served in Little Falls, Sauk Centre, Breckenridge, Alexandria and Onamia, Minn.; Dodgeville and Cudahy, Wis.

Sister DeSales Malinowski
Sister DeSales Malinowski ministered as a staff nurse, hospital administrator, anesthetist, inhalation therapist, pastoral care associate and a core member of the Franciscan Sisters House of Prayer. She served in Moorhead, Alexandria, Perham, Sauk Centre, Random Lake, White Bear Lake, Little Falls, Minn.; Wahpeton, N. Dak.; Dodgeville, Milwaukee and Cudahy, Wis.; and Sioux City, Iowa.

Sister Loretto Schneider
Sister Loretto Schneider served as a dietitian, teacher, counselor, pastoral care minister, religious education coordinator for adults and children, chaplain, personnel director, spiritual direction minister, social and parish ministry and was a core member of the Franciscan Sisters’ House of Prayer. She ministered in Breckenridge, Little Falls, Sauk Centre, St. Cloud, Alexandria, St. Paul, Prior Lake, Flensburg, Onamia, Shoreview and Cottage Grove, Minn., and Cheju, South Korea.

Sister Seraphine Stanoch
Sister Seraphine Stanoch ministered in food service. She served in Little Falls, Breckenridge, St. Cloud, Onamia, Moorhead, Perham, Flensburg and Waite Park, Minn., and Dodgeville, Wis.
