We live the Gospel of Jesus. In the example of Francis and Clare
of Assisi, we offer peace and joy to our world and walk side by side
with persons who are poor and less fortunate. We are committed to promoting human rights and dignity for all, building community wherever we live,
and healing the sources of Mother Earth’s wounds.

"I enjoy the Franciscan view of God which is coming to know God as
All-Good. Knowing God’s goodness makes it easier to see that all I have
is a gift of God’s goodness. As sisters, we share all that we have and are,
with each other and the amazing reality is that goodness multiplies
as it is shared.”

" 'Love one another as I have loved you.' Let them manifest their love in deeds. With confidence let them make known their needs to one another so that each can find and offer to the other that which is necessary."

-- St. Francis

All Free Trade Is Not Fair Trade…
or, Why the U.S.-Colombia Free Trade Agreement is Unfair
by Jeff Odendahl

First, let’s agree that trade itself is generally a good thing. Trade allows people from different parts of the world to get and use products they could not otherwise have. It encourages contact among different peoples, and allows us to understand one another better. Fair trade is especially beneficial for people in countries still trying to develop because it provides more markets for their goods and services. The key is that this trade must be fair—fair to workers in each country, fair in its use of natural resources, fair in its treatment of the earth. The proposed agreement with Colombia does not meet any of these standards of fairness.

Sisters, staff celebrate World Water Day

“Create a grateful heart in us, O God, that we may forever care for and use wisely all your gifts, especially your gift of water,” they prayed. After reading from scripture about the woman at the well, they blessed the water that was used to wash the hands of each individual. One by one, each person’s hands were dipped in the precious resource and wiped dry by a colleague and friend until all had a chance to be cleansed and to be reminded of what is often taken for granted … pure, life-giving water.

These four women religious bring energy, wisdom and experience to their leadership roles. They are responsible for the spiritual and evangelical leadership of the congregation. “As Franciscan Sisters and Associates, we walk together in the spirit of Saints Francis and Clare of Assisi, following in the footprints of Jesus Christ.
