All are invited to a commemoration service on this 500th anniversary of the Reformation. This special prayer service will be held in Sacred Heart Chapel, St. Francis Convent, Little Falls, on November 2 at 6 p.m. This is a joint effort of the Franciscan Sisters and local churches in Little Falls—First Lutheran, Bethel Lutheran, Holy Family, St. Mary’s and Our Lady of Lourdes. Join us as we pray in Jesus' name and worship together, acknowledging differences in our past and considering all we share in common as we seek continued reconciliation to the glory of God.

Rev. Dr. Henry "Hank" French, local resident theologian, will give the homily; other area clergy from several denominations will join the Franciscan Sisters in leading the service. The St. Francis Community Chorale will sing, and the liturgy will echo recent pieces, (“Common Prayer” and “From Conflict to Communion.”) written jointly by Catholics and Lutherans in preparation for this year of historical significance. Also included will be prayers from other recent ecumenical services, namely the service in Lund, Sweden, which Pope Francis led this past year with other Swedish Lutheran clergy representing the Lutheran World Federation.

For more information, contact Pastor Jake Dyrhaug at (320)632-6667 or jdyrhaug@flclittlefalls.org. All are welcome.

The Franciscan Sisters of Little Falls, Minnesota, is a community of Catholic women religious who follow the Gospel of Jesus Christ, walking in the footsteps of Saints Francis and Clare of Assisi. We believe that the living of a poor, simple and prayerful community life is a ministry of presence and witness. Our doors are open to the public to celebrate Mass in Sacred Heart Chapel and to benefit from the St. Francis Music Center and St. Francis Health & Recreation Center. We welcome those who wish to join us as sisters, associates, volunteers, transfer sisters, friends and donors.
