Clare's Well: 25 years of dreaming

If you heard music, laughter and chatter and the squawking of guinea hens plus hello greetings,

congratulations and reluctant goodbyes—

If you saw white tents, one with tables and chairs and one set up for staging a Heart of the Beast production, “Are you thirsty?”—

If you felt scattered raindrops, hugs and pats on the back, delighted sounds of recognition—

2095If you admired herbs and flowers in the kitchen garden where a hummingbird drank nectar, ignoring any activity around it—

If you tasted scrambled eggs and muffins, pulled pork sandwiches, rhubarb desserts and krispy bars—

If you followed guides to hermitages, a wellness center, a barn and gardens—

If you listened to a short history of turning the dream of a farm with beauty, gardens and animals, hospitality and peace that would bring healing into a place that now exists—

Then you were at Clare’s Well on June 9, 2013, participating in a circle — 25 years of dreaming, creating, and celebrating with the Creator and Creation again and again and again.

The Franciscan Sisters of Little Falls, Minnesota, is a community of Catholic women religious who follow the Gospel of Jesus Christ, walking in the footsteps of Saints Francis and Clare of Assisi. We believe that the living of a poor, simple and prayerful community life is a ministry of presence and witness. Our doors are open to the public to celebrate Mass in Sacred Heart Chapel and to benefit from the St. Francis Music Center and St. Francis Health & Recreation Center. We welcome those who wish to join us as sisters, associates, volunteers, transfer sisters, friends and donors.
