Franciscan Sisters Earth Day Reflection
Franciscan Sister of Little Falls, Sister Carol Schmit, reflects on Earth Day from Clare's Well Retreat Center in Annandale, MN. The Franciscan Sisters and Associates are members of the Earth Charter which guides them to live more sustainedly and responsibly. Clare's Well is an excellent example.
As Thich Nhat Hanh says in his famous book "The Miracle of Mindfulness," "People usually consider walking on water or in thin air a miracle. But I think the real miracle is not to walk either on water or in thin air, but to walk on earth."
Today, get outside and experience the miracle of walking on earth. "Really, every day is 'Earth Day.' "

The Franciscan Sisters of Little Falls, Minnesota, is a community of Catholic women religious who follow the Gospel of Jesus Christ, walking in the footsteps of Saints Francis and Clare of Assisi. Our doors are open to the public to celebrate Mass in Sacred Heart Chapel and to benefit from the St. Francis Music Center and St. Francis Health & Recreation Center.
